ABOUT US
The original school in Sourin was built in 1872. In 1960 the school transferred to its present site. It was extended in 1984 to incorporate a community wing. The school has recently undergone major refurbishment, including the addition of a new preschool room, staff room, sick bay and healthy living centre.

The school serves the islands of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre.



 

Summer Term News
Primary Athletics

Four pupils attended the Primary Athletics Championships in May.  They had a great day!

Author's visit

Janis Mackay, author of  'Magnus Fin and the Ocean Quest', worked with classes in May.  Pupils wrote their own exciting stories, featuring a new underwater creature.

Sports Day
Sports day is on Thursday 17th June.  Traditional races will start at 10 am, followed by refreshments and the bouncy castle for younger children.  The 'It's a Knockout' team competition for P1-7, will start at 2.15 pm, followed by refreshments and the bouncy castle for older children.  Everyone welcome! 

Holidays

School is closed on Friday 17th September due to in- service training for staff.

School closes for holidays on Friday 8th October and reopens on Monday 25th October.
